Apr. 30- May 4

French: This week students will learn the verbs ALLER and FAIRE in the 'imparfait'. There will be no evaluation this week as students will be preparing for the "gala d'art oratoire" (see Social Studies).

Reading at home program: Students will stop recording their reading once they've reached 1,200 minutes in both languages. 

Math: We will start a new unit on fractions.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

Science: We will start our unit on simple machines.

Social Studies: Students will present their Alberta-themed text in preparation for the "Gala d'art oratoire" on Friday. They should have their text memorized for the presentations.

Wednesday: MSD and MCS (ask your child)

Volunteers needed:
4 volunteers for science workshop: May 16th all morning

6 volunteers for fieldtrip to Glenbow Museum: May 22nd all day forms coming soon.

Swimming will start on Wednesday May 23: forms to be sent.

French: This week students will learn the verbs ending in IR in the 'imparfait'. There will be an evaluation on Friday, April 27th.  There is also French homework due on Friday.

Don't forget the reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs are due on Mondays. Students will be done recording their reading once they've reached 1200 minutes in both languages.

Math
: We will complete our unit on measuring area with a special project.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

Science: We will soon be starting a new unit on simple machines.

Social Studies: Students will be continuing to write their Alberta-themed text in preparation for the "Gala d'art oratoire".

Don't forget the reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs are due on Mondays. 

Math: We started our unit on measuring area.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

Social Studies: Students will be writing an Alberta-themed text in preparation for the "Gala d'art oratoire".

Don't forget the reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs are due on Mondays.

: We are finishing our unit on telling time. Evaluation this week.

English: We are starting a new unit on poetry.

Social Studies: We will be learning about agriculture in Alberta.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

On Thursday, the grade 4 students will be going to Aggie Days. Please ensure that they have a bagged lunch. In addition, students with allergies to dust and farm animals should bring their allergy medication.
