May 28- June 1st

French/Social Studies: This week students will be working on a Social Studies project about the history of Alberta.

Reading at home program: Students will stop recording their reading once they've reached 1,200 minutes in both languages. 

Math
: We will continue to learn about decimal numbers, including addition and subtraction.

English: We will start our novel study on Belle of Batoche.


Science: Evaluation on Simple Machines Tuesday



Wednesday, May 30th is our next MSD/ Wasteless Wednesday. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-Students have their final swimming lessons on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week.

-Students will have phys. Ed outside for the remainder of the year, weather permitting. Therefore, students should come to school prepared for this (i.e., hat, jacket, sunscreen etc.)

May 7 - 11

May 7- 11

French: This week students will learn the difference between the 'futur proche' and the 'futur simple'. There will be no evaluation this week as students will be preparing for the "gala d'art oratoire" (see Social Studies).

Math: We will continue our unit on fractions.

English: We will finish our unit on poetry.

Science: We will be continuing our unit on simple machines.

Social Studies: Students will present their Alberta-themed text in preparation for the "Gala d'art oratoire" on Friday. This will be the second round of presentations. Students should have their text memorized, have practiced adding gestures and present with expression!

Religion: Students are learning prayers to recite the Rosary.

Wednesday: MSD and MCS (ask your child)

Volunteers needed:
4 volunteers for science workshop: May 16th all morning

6 volunteers for fieldtrip to Glenbow Museum: May 22nd all day. forms coming soon.



Swimming will start on Wednesday May 23: forms to be sent soon.

The grade 4 students will be participating in the swimming program. Here are the following dates and times for swimming:

-May 23rd from 1:50 pm- 2:40 pm

-May 25th from 1:50 pm- 2:40 pm

-May 28th from 1:50 pm- 2:40 pm

-May 30th from 1:50 pm- 2:40 pm

-June 1st from 1:50 pm- 2:40 pm
