I forgot to let you know that we have Picture Day on Thursday!

September 28th 2020

Here is what we will be covering in class this week:

French: We will be looking at the difference between the verbs 'avoir' and ‘être’ in the present tense, including expressions that use these verbs. Students will write a pretest on Monday just to see what they already know. They will then write the evaluation on Friday. In addition, students will be completing some activities about Terry Fox.  For the moment, students are asked to bring one French book from home.

Math: We are continuing to learn about patterns with numbers and shapes. Students who do not know their numbers in French from 60- 100 should also be practicing them at home. They can practice with the card game that was shown in class today. Please remind them to keep the cards and their math duo-tang in their envelope. They should know how to say the numbers and write the words. They will have a quiz soon.

English: Students will continue with some creative writing activities as well as reading various texts. In addition, please get them to practice spelling for the following words: before, dinner, some, learn, family, sister, brother, school and teacher. These are words that many of them misspelled in a text they  wrote.

Science: Students will do a small research project on a common decomposer of their choice.

Social Studies: We will continue to discuss general information about Alberta, such as the capital city and coat of arms. There will be an evaluation on the geography of Canada/ Alberta on Thursday. Students will receive a study sheet on
 Monday.

Religion: Students are learning how God has called each of us to be One. Please send your child to school with a large freezer bag to protect the Religion textbook.

Terry Fox: Tomorrow, September 29th, will be our annual Terry Fox run. We ask that all students who are able to, bring 'a toonie for Terry' to raise money for cancer research.

Orange T-Shirt Day: A friendly reminder that this Wednesday is Orange Shirt Day!

Lockdown: We will be having a practice lockdown Wednesday morning. Procedures will be reviewed in class with students.

O Canada: As we are not able to sing, students are asked to practice O Canada in sign language. Here is the link:
