Here is what we will be covering in class this week:

French:  Students are continuing an informative writing assignment where they describe what a school is.  We are also starting Razkids, a French reading program to be done at home. Students are to go on Razkids 3 times this week for a minimum of 20 minutes each time. They received an info sheet on how to access the program and what steps to follow.

Math: This week, we are continuing to learn numeration up 9 999 and different ways to write those numbers.

Science:  Students are learning about garbage, landfill and biodegradability. 

Social Studies: Students are learning more information about the province of Alberta. 

English: Students will correct mistakes and write a good copy of their favourite character in the Magician’s Nephew. They will also listen with focus to the reading of THE FIFTH TREASURE by Eleanor Coerr to find new vocabulary and culture specific words. In addition, they will write a long list of compound words, all spelled correctly. 

Religion:  Students will reflect on the difference between the meaning of “the” church and “a” church. Students will demonstrate their understanding by a drawing.They will also decorate and build a church shaped donation box out of cardboard. 

Suggested family activity in preparation for Remembrance Day on November 11:

Here is what we will be covering in class this week:

French:  Students will begin an informative writing assignment where they describe what a school is. They will have two weeks for this. We will also start the Razkids French reading program. They will be using it as a homework starting next week. They will receive an info sheet on how to access the program and what steps to follow.

Math: This week, we are starting to learn numeration up 9 999 and different ways to write those numbers.

Science:  Students are presenting their projects on a decomposer. 

Social Studies: Students are learning mapping skills to locate the province of Alberta. There will be an evaluation on Thursday. They received a study sheet today.

English: Students will be writing a short reflection about a favourite character in the Magician’s Nephew. In addition, they will be learning about compound words.

Religion:  Students will be doing a service project. They will write a message of gratitude for Veterans at the Food Bank. On Friday, October 28 there will an evaluation on the names of the 12 disciples, To practice, listen to the Wee Sing choir sing :THERE WERE 12 DISCIPLES on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/z4jXVzAoYpg .Then fill in the blanks on photocopies sent home last week. 

Thursday is Pizza Day and the theme is :Wear only one color!

Sorry about the delay! Organizing St.Luke Feast Day took a lot of time.

Here is what we will be covering in class this week:


French:  This week, students are learning about adjectives. There will be an evaluation on Thursday.

Math: This week, we had an evaluation on using tables to extend patterning. Students will receive their results soon.

Science:  Students are working on a project of a decomposer. The project is due next Monday.

Social Studies: Students are learning mapping skills to locate the province of Alberta.

English: Revisions and Presentations of “I can” stories. Nouns: Words with Irregular Spelling Draw a picture to show comprehension, imagination and appreciation of passages in the Magician’s Nephew, Chapter 13 + 14

Religion:   Religion: Growing in Faith Unit 1 : Called to be One  (continued), Memorise, then write the names of the 12 disciples.  Here is what we will be covering in class this week:


French:  This week, students will be continuing to learn about "Les noms communs" and "Les déterminants" and how to find out if they are masculine, feminine or plural. They have to be able to look up words in the dictionnary to find out the gender of a name. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

Math: This week, we are learning to use tables to extend patterning.

Science: Students have received their evaluation. If a student got a NM or a NY,  he/she needs to write the reason  why on the evaluation (did not study, did not understand when Mme Allyson was teaching, did not undersand the questions on the evaluation, etc.) Students are now working on a project of a decomposer.

Social Studies: Students are learning mapping skills to locate the province of Alberta.

English: Revision and Presentations of “I can” stories, Reader’s Theatre: The Magician’s Nephew: Chapters 11, Nouns: Singular + Irregular Plural 

Religion:   Growing in Faith Unit 1 : Called to be One: Our Common Faith,

St Luke’s Feast Day and activities in preparation of Liturgy October 18

Here is what we will be covering in class this week:


French:  This week, students will be learning about "Les noms communs" and "Les déterminants" and how to find out if they are masculine, feminine or plural.

Math: This week, we are learning about patterning numbers up to 100.

Science: We are continuing our unit on Waste in our World. There is an evaluation on Wednesday on the two first booklets they studied. They also received a study sheet.

Social Studies: Will be starting soon.

English: Revision and presentation of “I can” stories. The Magician’s Nephew: Chapters 10-11. Nouns: Singular + Plural 

Religion: Growing in Faith Unit 1 : Called to be One (continued). Reflections, Songs and Prayers for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Liturgy on Friday at 1:00pm at school. 

Volunteer: We are looking for a volunteer to take a picture of every student from our class in the outdoor classroom and to get the pictures developed in a 4 X 6 format.

Food drive:  We are collectiong non-perishable items for the needy from St.Luke's church such as : Juice, Jam, Kraft Dinner, Cookies, Pancake Mix & Syrup, Soup, Rice, Coffee, Canned tomatoes, School snacks.
