Here is what we will be covering in class this week:

French: Students will be completing their written assignment where they pretend that the objects in the classroom have come alive. They will start writing Christmas stories with partners. A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday.

Math: We are starting our subtraction unit. Today, in order to practice basic addition and subtraction facts students were registered on the following website: xtramath.org.  Each student has his/her username and password. They should practice every night. There's a time limit controlled by the program.

English: We are working on homonyms. Evaluation next Monday.

Science: We are starting a project where students think about how to celebrate Christmas in a more environmentally friendly way.

Social Studies: We are continuing to present our Alberta animal projects.

ReligionWe are focusing on the Advent theme. We will also be making some Christmas cards for the residents of The Carroll Place which is near St. Luke’s Church.  We want to brighten up their lives.

Online Learning: On Thursday, parents will receive an email with a schedule and students expectations for the first week after the Christmas Holidays. On Thursday, December 17th students will bring home everything they need for the work that will be done the first week of January. Students are not to start anything during the holiday as we will be giving instructions everyday of the online learning at home.

Santa's hat: Starting next week, students can wear their Santa's hat at school and in the class. Please do not send any treats to share with other students.

Musical Talents: On December 15th, students who play an instrument, will be able to demonstrate their musical talents. We will have a piano available for the students who play the piano.

Message from Mme Amanda, our librarian: Thank you everyone for supporting our virtual book fair!  We sold a total of 231 books.  The funds raised from this book fair will be used to continue to grow our French collection as well as bring in some diversity and indigenous titles.  Thank you again for your support in these challenging times.
