March 12 to March 16

French: This week students will complete their story that includes an element of Spring.

In addition, there is a new reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs are due on MONDAYS!

Math: We will start with our unit on telling time. Students should be practicing reading an analog clock to tell time.

English/Religion: We will be finishing our unit on root words. In addition, students should be finished their religion project where they research one aspect of the Catholic Faith.

Social Studies: Students will continue to work on their project about one of the geographical regions of Alberta.

French: This week students will be learning about 'les verbes pronominaux".  There will be no evaluation.

JAP (Journal d'Activités Physiques): Pink sheet in due on Mondays.

In addition, there is a new reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs are due on Mondays.

Math: We will be continuing our unit on division. Students should review their basic division facts.

English: We will be learning about punctuation. In addition, students will be working on a religion project where they research one aspect of the Catholic Faith.

Science: We will finish our unit on lights and shadows. There will be an evaluation on Friday, March 2nd. Students will receive a study sheet on Monday.

Pink Shirt Day: Students should wear pink on Wednesday February 28th which is anti-bullying say. It will also be jeux de société on the same day.

French: This week students will be learning about verbs that use ÊTRE in the ‘passé composé'. There will be an evaluation on Friday, February 23rd.

In addition, there is a new reading program. Students are required to read out loud in French for a total of 80 minutes per week. They are also to read in English for an additional 80 minutes per week. Reading logs from last week are due on Mondays,

Math: We will be starting our unit on division. Students should begin to review their basic division facts.

English: We will be learning about proper paragraphing.

Science: We will continue our unit on lights and shadows. Students should be reviewing their notes throughout the unit to help them remember all of the information.

French: This week students will learn how to conjugate the verb ALLER in the ‘passé composé'. There will be an evaluation on Thursday.

Reading at home Program: Students will now record their reading in both languages and hand in their new log every Monday. The goal is to read in French first, record it and then reading the same amount in English and record it.

Math: We will be continuing our unit on multiplication. Students should know their basic multiplication facts for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10.

English: We will be learning about contractions.

Science: We will continue our unit on lights and shadows.

Religion: We will be talking about Carnaval and Mardi Gras.

French: This week students will learn how to conjugate the verbs AVOIR and ÊTRE in the ‘passé composé'. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

In addition, students are required to read out loud in French for 20 minutes a day, four times a week for the at home reading program. Reading logs from last week are due next MONDAY (February 5th)!

Math: We will be continuing our unit on multiplication. Students should know their basic multiplication facts for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10.

English: Students will be presenting their music research projects starting on Monday.

Science: We will start a new unit on lights and shadows.

French: This week students will learn how to conjugate other verbs that use AVOIR in the ‘passé composé'.

In addition, students are required to read out loud in French for 20 minutes a day, four times a week for the at home reading program. Reading logs from last week are due this MONDAY (January 22nd)!

Math: We will be continuing our unit on multiplication. Students should know their basic multiplication facts up to 3 x 9.

English: Students will complete their music project where they research either a musical instrument, a composer or a Canadian singer/ band. Presentations will start sometime towards the end of the week.

Social Studies: We will finish learning about the geography of the Rocky Mountains. Students should be reviewing their notes as there is an evaluation on Thursday.

Religion: Students will write their prayer for the morning announcements.

Thank you very much for all of the lovely Christmas presents. They were truly appreciated.

French: This week students will learn how to conjugate the ‘passé composé’ with verbs ending in ER. There will be an evaluation on Friday. Students have to read in French 4 times weekly. Log is due on Monday.

Math: We will comparing addition and subtraction. There will be an evaluation sometime during the week.

English: Students will start a music project where they research either a musical instrument, a composer or a Canadian singer/ band.

Social Studies: We are learning about the geography of the Rocky Mountains.

Religion: Students are learning about Epiphany. In addition, Sister Madeleine will be coming to visit the grade 4's on Wednesday.
