Here is what we will be covering in class this week:
French:Students will start a writing assignment where they describe what a school is. A reminder that students’ reading programs are due every Monday. If they forgot their yellow tracking sheet at school, students can always use a lined piece of paper and have a parent sign off on their reading minutes.
Math: We
are starting a new unit: “Whole Numbers”. We will explore numbers up to
10,000. How do you say them in French? How do you write them? What is their
value? How can you represent these numbers using base ten blocks?
English: We are
focusing on fragments, run-on sentences and Capitalization rules. Students will have a quiz on this next Thursday, Oct. 22nd. They can
bring their English duotang home in order to study. I have also asked students
to practice spelling the following words: a lot, about , across, also,
because, believe, every, famous, often, people, really, said, student, tried,
try, wanted and would.
Science: We are continuing with the second half of our unit on Waste in our World.
Social Studies: We will start discussing the different theories of the creation of the Earth.
Religion: We’ve been talking about the value of our beautiful Bible. Students will learn how to find significant passages in the Bible.
